Cameroon’s youth are both vulnerable and full of potential. Ongoing crises in regions like the Northwest, Southwest, and Far North have worsened economic hardship, disrupted education, and forced many into displacement. To support them, this strategy focuses on five key areas: economic inclusion, justice reform, environmental sustainability, education, and aid for displaced youth.
1. Youth Empowerment & Economic Inclusion
Goal: Create job and business opportunities for displaced and conflict-affected youth.
Provide vocational training and entrepreneurship programs for 10,000 youths each year.
Support 2,000 youth-led businesses over five years with mentorship and funding.
Improve financial access for 5,000 young entrepreneurs in rural and displaced communities.
2. Juvenile Justice Reform & Rehabilitation
Goal: Help incarcerated youth reintegrate into society.
Offer legal support to 5,000 at-risk youth annually.
Provide vocational and educational training for 3,000 incarcerated youth each year.
Reduce juvenile detention by implementing alternative sentencing for 30% of offenders by 2028.
3. Green Energy & Environmental Sustainability
Goal: Expand renewable energy access in underserved communities.
Install solar power in 500 schools, health centers, and businesses.
Create 10,000 green jobs in the renewable energy sector within five years.
Plant 1 million trees over five years to restore degraded land and combat climate change.
4. Education & Cultural Heritage Preservation
Goal: Improve education and strengthen cultural identity.
Establish 200 learning centers and provide 10,000 scholarships annually.
Launch 50 cultural preservation projects each year to promote social unity.
Equip 100,000 youth with digital learning tools and career skills.
5. Support for Displaced & Conflict-Affected Youth
Goal: Ensure access to education, mental health services, and job opportunities.
Bridge critical gaps in education, healthcare, and employment for over 1 million displaced youth.
This plan aims to empower young people, promote stability, and create a sustainable future for Cameroon’s next generation.
